A living piece of Australian history built in 1857.

Located in the suburb of Lyneham, The Old Canberra Inn is one of the earliest licensed pubs in Canberra and, in fact, the building is older than Canberra itself.

The original slab hut was built in 1857, and was a coach stop on the run from Yass to Queanbeyan until 1887. The slab hut then became a family home until 1974 when it was renovated and relicensed as The Old Canberra Inn.

The Old Canberra Inn is most well known for its craft beers, with their 10 beer taps exclusively serving craft beer.

Known for it’s relaxed family atmosphere, where the community gathers for great food, games and live music. It has grown to become one of the Canberra’s most loved pubs set in a rustic and authentic environment. Available for private functions and events.

The Old Canberra Inn is conveniently located for travellers coming in to Canberra from Sydney or Melbourne and is a must for tourists to plan a stop to this historic venue. We look forward to welcoming you to the venue to enjoy a craft brew and a great menu featuring local sustainable produce - catering for vegan and dietary requirements.

We are open 7 days and have live music every weekend - check out FB for all the events and weekly chef’s specials.
